Born in China’s Hebei province but raised in Beijing, 35 year-old Fresco artist Liu Zheng is the son of a fashion designer and a musician. His father played French horn in a military band. Liu says although he loves music, he didn’t want to follow his dad’s path.

Instead, he stubbornly repeated his last year of secondary school four times to finally score enough marks to win a place in an oil painting program at a university in China’s capital. Upon graduation, he was handed a stable government job but later opted for a trowel and a paint brush.

Lucie Guyard is a 33 year old native of the French tropical island Martinique in the French Caribbean. After receiving her diploma in graphic design, she moved to metropolitan Paris for work briefly before moving to Shanghai, where she has now been a resident for 7 years. And this is where her artistic business venture of publishing a series of comic stories on Chinese social media WeChat began.

Her other projects also include Street Stories: Dance Collaborations 2013′, an East London Dance and Royal Opera House project, and the ‘Walking’ Project by Robert Wilson.

Jennifer Kidd is a stop motion animation artist from Kildare, Ireland. She is now based in London. In her final year at Dublin’s Institute of Technology she won Best in Show and has gone on to exhibit in the Digital Hub in Dublin, and London’s Richmix Gallery and Hanmi Gallery. She also co-curated her most recent exhibit, ‘Silence and I’. Jennifer has worked with Derek Barnes and Tim Allen, the British animation artist known for his work on Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. Jennifer will return to the Hanmi Gallery for her next exhibit which opens in October.

The Vietnamese-German director kick started his career as a juggler at the age of 7 in Saigon. In 2010 he became the first Asian to win the Award of Excellence from the International Jugglers’ Association (IJA). He is also the first Vietnamese performer to join one of the world’s largest entertainment companies, Cirque du Soleil. Tuan Le’s first new circus production as a director, Lang Loi (my village), has been shown more than 300 times around the world including France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Hungary and Hong Kong.
